Greg Winters • President

Graduated from the University of Colorado in 1971.  Greg has worked most of his adult life in the title and escrow business.  In 1991 Greg and his partners acquired Benefit Land Title Company (“Benefit”) from Beneficial Finance Company. In 1995, Greg and his partners formed Benefit Land Title Insurance Company, the first California title insurance company in over 20 years.  In 2000, Centex Corporation, a national homebuilder, acquired the Benefit companies.  In 2005 Greg became CEO of RealNet Software LLC, which provided property profile and related real estate information via the internet using proprietary software.  In 2006, Greg negotiated the sale of RealNet to Fidelity National Title Insurance Company.  Since 2006, Greg has been a principal and President of Reliant Closing Solutions.

 

Steve Chaya • Owner and Counsel

Steve graduated from Arizona State University in 1975 with a degree in accounting.  He also received his law degree from ASU in 1977 and became a member of the State Bar of Arizona.  Steve had a general practice of law until 1984, when he became Vice President and Counsel for Fidelity National Title Insurance Company.  After Fidelity went public in 1987, Steve transferred to Orange County as Assistant General Counsel. He acted as interim General Counsel for American Title Insurance Company in Miami, Florida, during its acquisition by Fidelity.  In 1991, Steve became a director, Executive Vice President, and General Counsel for Benefit.  At Benefit, Steve was responsible for extensive regulatory compliance with the California Department of Insurance and California Department of Corporations. After the sale of Benefit to Centex Corporation, he worked for Old Republic Title Insurance Company until February of 2005, and then a national title agency.  He was general counsel for RealNet Software, until completing the sale of that company to Fidelity National Title.  Since 2006, he has been a principal and counsel for Reliant Closing Solutions.

Kathy Thomas • Business Enterprise Engineer & Process Officer

Kathy is a graduate of California State University and the University of Oregon.  She  brings many years of experience as an escrow officer and manger in diverse geographic locations to Reliant's management team.  In addition, she has worked in county and corporate management for several title insurance companies.  She has worked under Department of Corporations, Department of Real Estate, and Department of Insurance guidelines.  She has owned and operated a technology company which provided software solutions for major lenders, title insurance companies and agents, and escrow companies for many years. This experience combined with her technical expertise and training uniquely qualifies her to define and manage the visionary software solutions provided by Reliant Closing Services.
